The College of Global Futures (CGF) and associated schools support immersive learning opportunities for students who seek to gain skills and real-world experience outside the classroom on the journey to building a just and thriving world.

Below are resources you might find useful as you try to identify funding for the following types of learning experiences.

  • A study abroad program or Global Intensive Experience (GIE) course
  • Conducting applied research on an important global futures issue in another state or country
  • Providing financial support needed to be able to take on an unpaid internship with a non-profit organization
  • Participating in a conference/workshop that focuses on topics related to a student’s degree program
  • Professional development upskilling, training or certification

CGF Student Experiences – General Scholarship Application

The general scholarship application helps match students enrolled in a College of Global Futures degree program with funding available. These funds are to help students who don’t have access to other funding sources for their experience or need to fill a financial gap with funding their experience.

Application deadline: Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, but should be submitted at least 45 days prior to the experience. Once applications are complete, the goal is to notify the student of a decision within 2 weeks. Questions can be directed to [email protected].

Funds that students are considered for include: College of Global Futures Student Experiences Fund, Stafford Sustainability Fund, Weinstein Family BIOS Scholars Fund, and The Opportunity Fund at the School of Sustainability. Thanks to the generous support provided to these funds, opportunities to gain new experiences become more accessible to our students.
