Global Futures General Application for Current Graduate Students

This is the general scholarship application for current graduate students in the College of Global Futures whose majors are housed in the School of Complex Adaptive Systems, School for the Future of Innovation in Society, and School of Sustainability.

Current means you have already been admitted and have started taking classes – even if this is your first semester and you plan on continuing to take classes in the 2024-2025 academic year.

The College of Global Futures, in cooperation with the ASU Scholarship Office, believes in recognizing and supporting eligible global futures students with financial assistance to support academic goals. Our numerous scholarships are funded through many sources, including private businesses, corporations, foundations, alumni, and individual donors.

The application process is very competitive, and selection is based on varying criteria such as academic merit, GPA, leadership and community service, a program of study, academic and professional development goals, financial need, and residency classification.

  • Amount: $500 – $5,000
  • Deadline: February 15, 2024
  • Award term: Fall 2024 and Spring 2025
  • Academic level: Current graduate students
  • Eligibility: This application is only available to current graduate students admitted to a degree program in the School of Complex Adaptive Systems, School for the Future of Innovation in Society, or School of Sustainability in the College of Global Futures and who plan on being enrolled for the 2024-2025 academic year. If awarded a scholarship, students must register full-time each fall and spring semester for award disbursement. A special exception can be provided if the student does not need to be enrolled full-time to graduate. Some of our scholarships are merit-based and prior GPA and coursework may be taken into consideration. A special exception can be provided if the student does not need to enroll in the full 9 credit hours to graduate. Some of our scholarships are need-based and may require students to demonstrate financial need. To determine financial need, a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is an indicator used to determine need. Complete the FAFSA in order to be considered for financial need-based scholarships.
  • Essay: Students should answer essay prompts based on their experiences. Responses to essay prompts will be used to match students with available scholarships. It’s important that students spend time preparing meaningful responses to these questions and pay attention to spelling, grammar, and paragraph structure.
  • Reference: Applicants will be asked to include the name and contact information of a faculty member or instructor who has agreed to serve as a reference.
